| Why all the secrecy? Can we get names that might bring some hope to what otherwise is going to be a disastrous summer? Even a DM please? | |

| Personally, I am deeply unimpressed by lads coming & going as they fancy, like it's a gym membership.
Could you imagine Colm Boyle for example saying, "Yeah lads, heading abroad to put the feet up for a few months. Laters."
We are honestly a joke. | |

No reason for secrecy at all, the Leinster Leader reports that Daniel Flynn has returned from the US.

Think Neal Flynn was the sacrifice.

...it was hardly rocket science
DF played poorly in that u21 game because he had been away playing professionally with a different shaped ball. He will be fine, if available.

| He took the league off. Hes one of the fittest players in the country. Hes a young lad and its an amateur game, you don't own him and he certainly owes you nothing. Lucky to have him. | |

| The best players in the county should be on the pitch. If Dan Flynn is in the best 15 and willing to play, then he should be picked. No one else put their hand up to take his place. | |

| Would be delighted to see Dan Flynn back. Some people might not like that he stepped away for the league but he's a top class forward and made a huge impact last year so be glad to have him back. These players give so much of their time to club and county so I can't begrudge anyone wanting a break. | |

| Fuck it may as well be overly positive and blindingly optimistic for the next 6 weeks or so now anyways.
Dan back in full forward with 2 from Neill, Ben and Jimmy in the corners.
Hammer Wicklow and put on a decent show against the Dubs.
Handy run in the qualifiers and back to the Super 8's.
Nice to have that to look forward to.

| No problem with Flynn coming back onboard, but realistically, the Kildare football squad is more like a social club than a proper inter-county set-up.

| Lets be clear here, Dan Flynn didn't step away for the league, he left the panel to pursue other interests which is absolutely fine by me, those other interests must not have worked out as well as he had hoped unfortunately for him and he would be a huge addition but the way some have written above, it make it sound like Dan's intention was always to rejoin the panel around April, that is not the case. | |

Exactly, he didn't swan off and skip the league with the intention of strolling back onto the team for the championship. He was supposed to be missing for the full season. It's a pity for him that things didn't work out how he initially thought they might - but from a selfish fans point of view that's potentially our gain. If he makes himself available to O'Neill and wants to play then it should be a no brainer in terms of getting him involved again.

| Maybe Johnstownbridge brought him back after Leixlip beat them at the weekend Joking aside there is a lot of commitment for young players playing inter county some players need a break to refresh etc Dan was probably one of the outstanding forwards last year and if he made himself available he should be brought back in | |

| Wicklow are a poor team but Kildare are also in chaos. Wicklow have nothing to lose, pressure on Kildare will be immense and what their state of mind will be is anyone's guess.
Kildare have good players. But they are not playing like that and there is no evidence whatsoever at present to say that they can turn the tap on.
Carlow were 7/1 last year. Wicklow are 15/2......has to be worth a punt.
Should Kildare change their manager before May, well I would expect that they will get over the line with something to spare. If not...…...

| If Dan is to come back it would be a massive bonus, however. ... he can't stop brainless defenders giving away stupid frees, he can't prevent other players collecting silly black cards, he can't give a clueless manager the tactical nous to make the right decisions, he can't hasten the evolution of invertebrates, but it is a start, so on that positive note...... | |

| I think he'd make a massive difference. We scored more goals in division one last year (six) than we did in division two this year (four) and it's mainly down to not having him. Would be absolutely delighted to see him back. Any word on Niall Kelly possibly doing the same? | |

| If that's the case then changes need to be made for the good of Kildare football asap. That many walk outs speak volumes. We are getting into serious trouble here.
