Start as we mean to go on so. Keep the head down in case there is any chance of some positivity and buzz for the start of the new season... There needs to be a push for the league at least and some word of what is happening in the camp.

Best of luck to all the lads, particularly debutants.. can anyone tell me is Jack Robinson is involved and if not, why not? Not that anyone involved owes us anything, he’s just supremely talented

You'd nearly have pick the Irish lotto numbers sooner than than youd have predicted this team. Good to see the net cast wide, should find a couple here.

Agreed lilysavage. Interesting line up. As always, a lot of the new faces won't be on the panel for long. Good luck to them all & hope a few can grab their chance. Good luck too to Glenn & his team, hopefully the start of a good year.

Some observations.
Good result against poor opposition. For me the most positive thing was managements willingness to try new players and consistant scoring throughout (Q1 - 5 points, Q2 5 points, Q3 - 4 points, Q4 - 5 points)
3 weeks time will be a different ball game of course but decent start
1. Aaron O'Neill - lacks a bit of composure but can challange for a place if he settles down a bit 2. Tom Harrington - good on the ball, quick, good prospect 3. Mick O'Grady - nothing new... he's under pressure for his place 4. Ryan Houlihan - looks very sharp today and more comfortable in corner back than wing back 5. Tony Archibald - impressive on the ball, a bit light maybe, one for the future 6. Shea Ryan - not a fan, a liability on the ball 7. Jack Sargent - very impressive, incredible composure for a debut, want to see more of him in league 8. Kevin O'Callaghan - limited on the ball but good physicality, good back up midfielder 9. Kevin Flynn - pace around the middle very important, can beat players with ease, pure class 10. Con Kavanagh - works hard but offers little, a few bad attempts to footpass to inside line 11. Paul Cribbin - Can do the spectacular but decision making is very questionable, loves running down blind alleys and slowling up the ball 12. Padraig Tuohy - very solid debut, looks very quick and can run with the ball and cause trouble for defenders, good find and prospect 13. Paddy Woodgate - Has all the skills but looks a little light and weak in possession, great potential though 14. Adam Steed - looked a bit out of his depth today but one for the future 15. Jimmy Hyland - class as we already know.
Last point is that Dan flynn needs to play inside, he wins possession so well and is so dangerous.

Decent performances from the corner and wing backs.
Hyland and Woodgate looked very lively. Kicked some nice points but some poor wides mixed in as well.
Winning well without playing too well isn't bad at this time of year I suppose though.

@Godown Are you suggesting that o Grady is under pressure for his place? Who do u think will take his place? To me he's an absolute banker to play and will probably be tram captain. Archibald had a fine game looks a player with brains. Touhy was impressive don't remember seeing him before, Harrington nice footballer may need to strengthen maybe rainbow can mentor him.,similar build and style

Mad how two people can watch a game and come to completely different opinions. Thought Cribbin was excellent. He linked play well, gave options to the ball carrier, worked hard and scored two points I think. O'Callaghan in midfield was also very good. Made a number of high catches, has a great engine and fitness and allowed Flynn to venture forward.
Agree on Jack Sergeant, exceptional debut. Archbold was also very good. In fact all the backs were solid with plenty of over lapping runs and aggression in the tackle.
All in all I thought that was a very good run out for this time if year. Far better that we saw under O'Connor.
